Drove to Cordoama to shoot Gony Zubizarreta. It was his last day here and the waves were pumping. Took a few from top then… bang! Dropped my Nikon D800 to the ground. Kaput. I think the mount is f+cked, the images come out blurred. I am selling it for parts.
hulk in heaven
buddy marlon feeling it
Please help me to get another camera and do what I love again. You can buy me some prints (send me an email) or donate some money here:
Waited for the rockstars to show up for hours, waves was shit. The gods around here have this sense of humor, Zavial had been pumping a few days ago… Hash works for this big americano mag you know, was with this hot surfer and all and I was willing to show him around.
This stranger told me: “Arrifana is nice Dude!” I thought it was too big, too onshore, too empty. Ok. The dude abides. Let´s go Sebastian (my german photographer mate)!
Ahaha! Waves were fun! Leon was catching a ton of them, Marlon, Gony… The gringos! We hunged out, etc. Real cool dudes. It´s a shame I let go of my boar. It ended up in the bars in Lagos where I pitched my story.
Hash: We are making an article on this coast Brek!
Moring session with Gony and Marlon was fun. A big storm with hail and all hit us really big time. Gony told me it was the heaviest in the water he had. It cleared like it always does in Algarve, but ice on the beach was kind of weird.
hot and cold marlon
a cool gony
Afternoon surf was warmer, but what a day. Iceman Wim Hof would have been proud!
It was carnival and everyone came down south chasing the little Hercules. Keeping it´s fickle tradition this coast didnt deliver, waves were small and shitty. With a little effort, the help of the scenery and fresh air I tryed to make the most of it. Here´s some random pics of the holydays, check it out!
Gony and a couple of Canary kids showed up at our place last week. Strong offshore and nice banks made some really fun sessions. Marlon, Alex, Mouzinho and the Guichard bros eventually were there to show them the ropes. I just had to click.
The swell eventually came up with the rising tide.
Nothing epic, but I might use a pic for my upcoming book Trippin Down South.
